Here’s the complete video from his 1982 album “Fandango”. This video collaborates his first 20 years as a recording artist with the TJB and solo efforts. I cannot believe it’s been over 45 years now since he first started. Please enjoy this little history. PS Ihad the once in a lifetime opportunity to see Herb and Lani play at Blues Alley in Georgetown Washington DC 12 May 2008. The show was absolutely spectacular. After all these years, they both still have it: the skills and the love. Truly a remarkable show. Herb and Lani, thanks to all of the wonderful years of warming our hearts with your great art work. You both are truly blessed as well as I was at your show.

Fandango

Joe Lynn Turner was a memeber of Deep Purple and Richie Blackmore’s Rainbow. He also issed four albums with his group Fandango. “Fandango was originally released in 1977, their first album.

1961beethoven says:

Just listen to the music and stop reading all of the crap opinions by all of the time-wasters on youtube

1961beethoven says:

Yes he’s Jewish; and you are giving him unnecesary/doubtful credit for it. There is nothing special about being a jew; the jews have been persecuted through history, not for nothing; please stop your reverse psychology, it won’t work on me. There must be something wrong with a group of people when the whole world hate them…

1961beethoven says:

Do you want to bring them back from the grave? Herb himself is around 77 years old; most of the other guys were EVEN OLDER!

1961beethoven says:

Being Herb a native of Los Angeles; the instrumental piece probably refers to FREEWAY 101; but “Route 101″ sounds better than “Freeway101″…

1961beethoven says:

I believe he’s also homosexual; do you also want to give him credit for that? When you tell only part of the story, you are actually propagandizing; which is common practice for the Jews; not for nothing Hitler, the Inquisition and a thousand more have tried to exterminate those guys. Let’s just say that he is/was a good trumpet player that got inspired in Tijuana Mexico in 1962.

wannawatchu66 says:

Had that chip on your shoulder long? When I said Alpert was Jewish, I was only responding to someone who said he’s not Hispanic, so don’t put words in my mouth and read things into my previous posts. Who cares that you believe he’s gay? As for “the crap opinions by…the time-wasters on YouTube,” the SIX COMMENTS IN A ROW below are YOURS. So how about taking your own advice, quit acting like a troll, and quit trying to start pissing contests?

MrsClippit says:

oh, hmmm why dont YOU listen to the music and stop leaving stupid hateful comments… whatever LOL LOL LOL!!!

MrsClippit says:

What a hate monger you are.. I feel sorry for you. There was nothing WRONG with us! God used our people to bring Messiah to the world that you might be saved. But your hate and ignorance has consumed your heart. Goodbye

I was lucky and honored enough to get Herb Alpert autograph. I’ve liked him since I was in grade school and have all of his albums.

JVLIVSPhoto says:

rubyjking says:

@1961beethoven You are a fucking troll. Get a life. Who cares what he is? Just enjoy the music. Don’t be judgmental.

flinx649 says:

clineshaunt says:

Whoa, :55-:1:01 I had no idea Kramer from Seinfeld was the trumbonist in the Tijana Brass? One of my favorite instrumentals off all time. I’ve been on Route 101 between Santa Barbara and LA and this song fits that ride to a T. Good post!

Hobtiebob says:

Oh this is soo fine. This song must be on the soundtrack of my life.

Anyone knows more songs with this vibe to expand that soundtrack…?

jackpark7927 says:

An appropriate fantasy for this: a ’62 red Corvette, a blonde in a black string bikini riding “shotgun” and this playing on the AM radio…..oh yes, the sun setting slowly over the Pacific. Are you with me, guys?

MrBones103 says:

God I love this song…..one of the main reasons i got into trumpet playing was of Herb and used to play this song but i havent pick up my trumpet in so long…but yeah this song conjurs up a nice summer evening driving in a convertable with your beautiful wife ahhh

grammarita1 says:

I always felt this song was much better than the follow-up, “Rise.”
