Very well presented.

I agree. Push is a battery hog. Fetching is not as bad as it only “talks” to the server when it is scheduled to. However, I haven’t noticed a huge different in battery either way :-/

i jsut bought an iphone 4(brand new) and i pretty much did what you did here in the vid, but it still kind of the same… i charged it at 11 last night until 6 am.. and i needed to charge it again at 12 tonight…do you know any other secrets or tips to improve the battery life of for iphone 4?

zollotech says:

charging it once a day is normal for just about every smart phone out there.

KoutaFG says:

Sheesh, you must be crazy about apple products =/

DeltaXXY says:

Actually, the menu you get when double-tapping the home button is just a ‘recently used applications’ list. iOS automatically shuts down the last used apps to free up memory when it needs to, BUT they stay on the list. Besides that, apps that are listed in that menu only take up memory and not CPU and/or data and thus don’t consume battery. Only some apps can continue working in the background, like music apps or apps that sync to the cloud (but only to finish a allready started sync)

zollotech says:

while some of that is true, apps that keep running in the background do take up cpu cycles. It really depends what app it is.
