Gameplay and first impressions commentary on Diablo 3. Covers the first quest. Yeah, of course the game really is a lot of fun. I just hate the requirement of servers for single-player gaming. Getting kicked off when you’re going solo is just ridiculous. Buy Diablo 3 for less in my game store! www.gamefanshop.com Captured using the AVerMedia Live Gamer HD.
I was brought up on computers, first machine we had growing up was a ZX81 but 2.04 and all that online BS reminds me of why I stopped playing games on them and switched to consoles. Thanks to awesome channels like this I can at least get to see what I’m “missing”.
The upside to this DRM is that you don’t have to create separate characters for singleplayer and multiplayer. You can interchange them at any time and get that rare gear only obtainable via trading. The servers for Diablo 1 are still up so we don’t have to worry about Blizzard abandoning this game at any time. The real money auction house should be enough to keep the servers up indefinitely.
The Diablo games are essentially prettier versions of NetHack anyway, so I’ll save my money and stick with ASCII graphics and simple tilesets. And I can play it on my phone – without needing a connection to anything.
not being able to play the single player campaign without an internet connection is just plain stupid. this crap actually encourages piracy instead of preventing it: i never really liked diablo that much, but if i did, i’d probably buy it and then torrent some cracked off-line version right away. argh..
Simply do not care about D3. Would not touch that DRM crap if I were paid even. Torchlight1 and soon to be 2 is WAY better. But I like your videos. Very entertaining
From my experiences solo online play also reduces loot drop rate by 70%. So not only do one get -70% of loot when they play solo online, they also get to deal with lagg and network disconnects.
For comparison i got full inventory before each waypoint and atleast 2-4 blues when i was with a friend.
Solo i got half a inventory full of whites and MAYBE 1 blue.
And yeah, if anything torchlight 2 feels better.
Path of exile, has the online part of it just like diablo 3 though.
Also heres a fictional conversation at blizz hQ about the drm:
Boss: Online only drm is wonderful! No one will pirate this game!
Employee: But the pirates will just emulate the server and the users of said emulated server will get better gameplay and might even be able to play on a LAN with such a method!
Boss: Nonsense, Online only drm is the future!
You know what Blizzard should have done? Have a box you could click that was “Single Player Only” and make it where that character couldn’t go online and mess up the online auction house or whatever. This wouldn’t get rid of singleplayer for characters you would want to take online, but you’d have to be connected to the server to play that character. It would only limit your single player only character to offline only.
Torchlight 1 is better then D3, atleast i got a feeling of fun when playing torchlight 1.
D3 gave me this, “i could have been cool but i was gimped and now i suck” feeling.
Well most positive gaming reviews of games like D3 are most likely bribed/payed.
Its good to hear someone that is honest and isnt payed to say random generic positive review crap like most gaming sites/magazines.
In D2 there was bonuses to make people play on bnet, more bosses, elite areas, and such.
One could play offline but would miss out on 5% of the endgame stuff.
And i think there will be a server emulator soon for D3, as there seems to be a large interest in it.
Well i felt like i was kicking a plastic bucket around while playing D3.
So im looking forward to Torchlight 2, mods, offline play and such goodies.
Path of exile i hope will get a offline playing system aswell, but its beta right now and yeah it not really finished by a long way.
i love your gameplays and reviews they are so clean and so insightful seriously the whole time you explain how you feel and what YOU think no bull crap thanks! keep it up!

Kinda like EA’s DRM? But not a douchey?

I’m sorry but i don’t like this game for some reason. It’s not the worst but…. Any way i just sold it to some one else

I really loved this critical style of playing games, I enjoy getting raw opinions. Hope you keep doing stuff like this!

Didn’t Minecraft also recently change to be online-only single player as well? Oh Lord, please don’t let this be a sign of the times.
