An unexpected October winter snow storm pushed me to get more LED flashlights. My other AAA LED flashlights were durable but couldn’t light the whole room. And, I was burning through batteries on my conventional bulb flashlights. I got the Rayovac Sportsman Xtreme Lantern from Amazon.com for .86. Pro: -Enough light to brighten a 12X12 room -A rubber bottom, Non skid enclosure -Long lasting LED -Battery lasts 3 days on high -Great design at an affordable price, .86 -I appreciate the cover over the LED’s, nothing shined directly at my eyes Con: -The light output in strobe mode is a bit low -It took a few seconds to figure out how to close the battery cover, instructions would have been nice Thanks for watching. www.AwkwardHamster.com Follow on Twitter or Facebook. twitter.com www.facebook.com

Thanks for the review. I had to change my tire in the dark the other day and realized that a small lantern like this would have been great for the job. This was the first result on amazon with good reviews and after this video I’m sold on it. Thanks again.
You’re very welcome. I just ordered a few hand crank/pump flashlight. I’ll post a video of it once it arrives. Thank you for viewing.
fantastic lantern. i ended up buying 4 for camping and emergencies. i think these are the best lanterns for the money. great design and can definitly take being dropped unlike the colemans or everready lanterns.
Very cool i just bought this lanteren today at Manardswas $24 dollars, and i had a rebate for $30 from some shelving i had bought..soo figgured why not.. lol i just put mine together while watching you, I agree it seams well built…I bought it because we lost power 4 times last summer, and as i have a good few flashlights, this would be a good base light for when power is out…
How in the world do you close the damn thing up after putting in batteries? It’s very hard to do? Any tricks?
Hi! Look at 3:38 in my video. There’s an arrow pointing to a notch. You’ll need to align that up with the notch on the battery cap in order to turn and close the cap. If you have any more issues, I can make a follow-up video to show how it’s done. Thanks for watching.
At first it seems hard but after a few times it gets very easy the inside moves is what makes it seem hard but all you need to do is turn it until the two notches line up one has a red sticker on it to match the one on the body so just match up push and turn.
Good video!
Thank you!
